Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony Information
The South Albany High School Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd at 7:00 PM at the RedHawk Stadium.
All South Albany High School athletic facilities will be closed to the public from 3:00 PM on Friday, May 29th until 6:15 PM on Tuesday, June 2nd for graduation.
Tickets:
All attendees, regardless of age, must have a ticket to attend the ceremony. Even children and infants must have a ticket. Each graduate will be given eight tickets, which they will receive at the Senior Breakfast the morning of Thursday, May 28th. The school does not sell tickets. There are no replacements for lost tickets.
Parking:
Parking will be available in the Pool Lot. The parking lot by the Commons and Tennis courts will initially be reserved for graduates, but will be made open to the public at 6:30. Parking is limited so please try to carpool.
Entrances:
Multiple gates will be open to the stadium including the main gate, visitor’s gate, and the NE gate on the corner of 36th Avenue and Waverly.
All gates will open at 6:15 PM.
The Waverly corner gate will close at 6:55 PM
The main gate will close at 7:00 PM
The visitor’s gate, located on the north end of the bleachers, will remain open during the ceremony
Seating:
Seating is for ticket holders only. In addition to seating in the bleachers, seating will be available on the field and track. Space will be available for wheelchairs on the track.
Prohibited Items:
Any items that may disrupt the ceremony or the visibility of guests are prohibited at graduation including banners, signs, balloons, umbrellas, horns, noisemakers, confetti, etc. Large bags and backpacks are not permitted, as well as large containers.
Spanish Interpretation:
Simultaneous interpretation in Spanish will be available during the ceremony on YouTube. We recommend that guests accessing interpretation bring their own cell phone devices and earbuds so that they can follow along in Spanish. The school will have a limited supply of additional headphones upon request at the main gate. Wifi will be available.
Live Streaming:
Live streaming of the graduation ceremony will be available in both English and Spanish on YouTube. Links for both English and Spanish will be made available closer to the date of graduation.
Photos:
There will be a professional photographer at graduation to capture the graduates as they receive their diplomas. These photos will be available for purchase and download after the ceremony.
Miscellaneous:
After the ceremony, the graduates will exit the stadium onto the adjacent field, at which time we encourage families and guests to join them to take photos and give their graduates their flowers, balloons, and leis. Please no confetti or anything that may require extra work of our wonderful custodial staff.
Lastly, our graduates have worked incredibly hard towards this major accomplishment. We ask that our guests honor this by showing respect and courtesy towards everyone in attendance. Please be mindful that this is a school event and a family occasion. We ask that you silence your cell phones and remain seated for the duration of the ceremony.
